An Equation for Success

Better Roots, Stronger Plants, POWER TO YIELD
A new era of yield potential is here with 'Power of Three' Pride G3 YieldGard VT Triple stacked hybrids.
These hybrids were developed using VecTranTM insertion technology, which provides direct and more precise
multiple trait insertion for optimal performance including superior and more consistent rootworm protection.
The result is higher yield potential.  Pride G3 YieldGard VT Triple hybrids combine the following
technologies into one seed package:

  1. New YieldGard VT Triple, which provides inside out protection against corn borer and corn rootworm.
YieldGard VT Triple hybrids provide the most consistent rootworm protection on the market today.

  2. Roundup Ready crop safety yield advantage.

  3. PonchoTM 250 to protect against other soil borne insects.

Pride G3 hybrids provide more consistent whole season, in-plant protection from corn rootworm
and corn borer with the added benefit of Poncho 250.

The theory behind the value of Pride G3 hybrids is simple.  The better the root system a corn plant has from start to finish,
the stronger the plant - especially under stress conditions including drought.  The result is higher yield potential.

New Pride G3 YieldGard VT Triple hybrids protect the entire root system and plant from the inside out against corn
rootworm and corn borer.  With whole plant protection, the root system can grow uninhibited throughout the season to find
water and nutrients.  Plants with no protection, or with only the protection of a soil insecticide, can have restricted root
systems within a shallow zone.  This is because rootworms or other pests feed on roots growing outside of this protected zone,
which leads to a poorer root system with a dramatically increased risk of reduced yields.

Pride YieldGard VT Triples feature new second generation VecTran insertion technology.  VecTran insertion technology provides
more direct insertion of multiple traits with a key benefit being the delivery of a more consistent, concentrated and even
distributed barrier of insect protection across corn plant roots.  The result is more consistent rootworm control and superior
insect protection when compared to other technologies available today.

Pride G3 hybrids have a fit on many operations

  • For producers growing corn on corn and using a soil insecticide, Pride G3 hybrids offer the opportunity for superior insect
control at a lower total system cost per acre and with the personal and environmental safety benefit from not having to handle
    a soil insecticide.

  • For producers using Bt/RR hybrids, Pride G3 hybrids offer the benefit of a third root stress tolerant gene for a minimal cost
with the additional benefit of Poncho 250 which is included in the price of all Pride G3 hybrids.

  • For any producer looking to increase yield per acre with insurance against environmental or insect related stress,
Pride G3 hybrids offer the most comprehensive yield insurance package on the market today.
The result is . . .better roots, stronger plants and the Power to Yield!

Protecting Technology is Everyone's Responsibility

( Blue = Refuge,   Black =YieldGard Rootworm,   Red =Separation by road or lane ONLY)

To preserve the benefits of these technologies and to avoid the development of insect resistance, all corn growers
are required and strongly urged to follow sound refuge management strategies that include:

YieldGard Corn Borer - Insect Resistance Management

  • Plant a minimum 20% of corn acres with non-Bt corn and do not treat these acres with insecticides registered
     to control European corn borer.

  • If the refuge is in the same field as the Bt corn, it should be planted in blocks on field edges or headlands or in
strips of a minimum of 4 corn rows each.  DO NOT mix Bt and non-Bt seed as it increases the potential for
    resistance development.

  • In all cases, all Bt corn plants should be within 400m (1/4 mile) of non-Bt corn (refuge).

  • The corn hybrid used in the non-Bt refuge area should be of similar maturity, growth and yield potential as that of
the Bt hybrid.  For your convenience, Pride has created the HeroPack that combines premier Bt and recommended
    refuge hybrids.

  • Scout Bt corn fields for the presence of European corn borer feeding.  Contact your local seed supplier if higher than
expected levels of corn borer feeding are observed.

YieldGard VT Triple - Insect Resistance Management

  • Plant a minimum of 20% of the crop as one of the following corn refuge options

    • Roundup Ready single trait corn hybrids

    • Conventional hybrids

  • Place refuge adjacent or within the Pride G3 hybrid field

    • Adjacent refuge field can be separated by a road but not another field

  • Must use same crop rotation for refuge planted fields as YeildGard VT Triple

  • Refuge can be treated for larval CRW and other soil pests with soil applied, seed applied or foliar applied insecticides

  • Refuge acres can be planted to Poncho 1250.  these acres may also be treated for late season pest using a foliar
    insecticide

  • Must own or manage all refuge corn fields

    • Note that even if no corn rootworm is present, you must use the above refuge strategy in fields planted to Pride G3
      YieldGard VT Triple Hybrids
